You've probably seen this type of coating in one place or another. It's often used as a decoupage coating where a very heavy, clear coating is desired. Consisting of two components which are mixed 1:1 by volume, Epoxy Coating Compound is best applied on a horizontal surface where the coating may remain undisturbed for at least 12 hours. Being the consistency of honey, this material allows you to build heavy layers of material with no shrinkage involved. We find that it even makes a great coating for styrofoam if you need a good durable finish. Pigments and dyes may also be added to Epoxy Coating Compound for special effects.
