Commonly used as a candle making wax, paraffin is also used to harden the microcrystalline waxes where a little harder wax is desired. Somewhat brittle, so normally when adding to the softer waxes, a little goes a long way. For those of you doing canning, this is a good sealing wax. Melting point is 152F.
