This class is being taught by expert forensic artist and anatomist, Gloria Nusse. Gloria has decades of experience sculpting various human as well as animal forms and the hand is very familiar to her. Probably one of the most if not the most difficult parts of the body to sculpt, hands can be very expressive and getting just the right form and posture can make or break a sculpture. We will be using armatures and oil based clay to create our hands and there will be a discussion of historic examples of sculpted hands from antiquity to the present time. This is an intense two day class and it is recommended that you have at least a basic understanding of sculptural techniques with oil clay and some experience with clay tools. All tools and materials will be provided. Class is limited to 12 students. Wednesday, 9/3 and Thursday, 9/4, 6-9PM.
