An old standard, Sisal (or hemp, manila) is great to use as a reinforcing agent in plaster. Long fibers can be dipped into the wet plaster and applied to the back of a casting to make it light weight and strong. Sold by the bale, or in 1 lb bags. We also offer a ‘Cut’ Sisal if a shorter fiber is desired (random cut 1⁄2” to 1”)
